Our Mission

Adaptive Magic in Motion is a groundbreaking project that aims to bring the wonder of magic shows to autistic children, tailoring performances to meet their unique needs and preferences. Autistic children often experience the world differently, with varying sensitivities to sensory stimuli, which can affect how they perceive and enjoy entertainment like a magic show. Considering these differences, the shows are specially created, starting from changing the magic gimmick, the form of delivery, and transforming the stage into a sensory-friendly environment.

Some of the key features of Adaptive Magic Shows includes way the show is created and delivered in a sensory-friendly environment with dimmed lights or adjustable lighting to prevent overstimulation, low sound volume levels with the option for noise-canceling headphones, flexible seating arrangements to allow for personal space and comfort, and rigorously arranged seating to enable the child to focus on the magician. The show also includes an interactive element to encourage participation in a gentle way without pressure to participate. The hands-on magic incorporates tactile elements that children can touch, smell, and explore safely. Familiar themes that resonate with children's interests and preferences are used, with a predictable structure and a clear message to provide comfort and reduce anxiety.

The magicians also hold an important role, as each performer has experience with autism or has been trained in autism communication strategies, with the flexibility to adapt the delivery easily based on the performers' reactions and needs.

Another important fact to know lies in the fact that Magic Delivery considers the three levels of functioning in autism, ranging from low to medium to high functioning. The magic illusion is delivered considering the level of understanding, comprehension, and ability to interact of the child, who is the conjurer that delivers the trick; the magician is the source that directs the magic act to happen. This tailored approach ensures that each child can fully engage with the performance, fostering both enjoyment and learning. Adapting the experience to their unique needs, Magic Delivery not only entertains but also empowers children on the autism spectrum. The child will be able to touch, smell, hold, and react with amazement when the trick is delivered.  A genuine reaction makes him the best assistant magician.  This collaboration between the child and the magician fosters a deep sense of confidence and joy. As the child engages with the magic, they not only enhance their sensory experiences but also improve their social skills and emotional connections.

ADAPTIVE MAGIC IN MOTION It is not just about entertaining—it's about creating an inclusive experience that acknowledges and celebrates the unique ways autistic children see the world. With the unique approach in tailoring magic shows to their needs, this project spreads joy, wonder, and awareness, one magical moment at a time.
